So why bother training for 5 months, running 4 times a week, only to put yourself through 26.2 miles of hell on a Sunday morning in April?
I guess I have a few reasons, for those that know me, you will know that I have had a tough time of it recently, I've split up with my girlfriend, who now hates me, she sends me text messages to tell me so. I'll give you some examples
"I will make your life hell"
"Think you need to be reminded again what a useless piece of shit you are"
And my personal favorite:
"My Cat is ill, its all your Fault"
So its not an ideal situation, I have had to leave my own house and move back down to London. I am trying to make the best of it and see the funny side. To top it all, I now have to sell my beloved VW Camper to make ends meet.
After all this I found that I was in a pretty dark place, and in a funny way, running keeps you sane, it gives you time on you own to get your head straight and think things through. For my own self esteem, I feel like I need to do something positive, something good, and that's where the FSI come in.
They are a small charity, but a really good one. The FSI supported Through UNITY, a coalition of family members affected by Gun, Gang and Knife crime turning a £10 donation to the FSI into £18 of advice and learning for Through UNITY, which they in turn used to raise £50 to prevent violence and help families. You don't have to be a maths student to see that makes sense and lets small charities help themselves.

Hi Ollie, thanks for the tip for the music I will check it out. to put the just giving bit on the blog, first go into your blogger dashboard and select layout, now in another tab go into your justgiving account and into the "your fundraising" tab. click on get a widget and then copy the code which appears. then go to the dashboard and select add a gadget, then scroll down the options and select the html option, give the item a title and paste the code from the justgiving site and click save, job done.
